DID YOU SAY… SAUNA ON THE BEACH?

Oh yes. You read that right.

After Saturday’s workshop, we’ll head just20 minutes from the studio to a little fishing village, nestled beside a castle and right on the coast, for a very Scottish kind of post-training ritual:

Sauna. Sea air. Good company. And, if you’re feeling brave… a dip in the sea.

We’vepre-booked the sauna experience exclusively for our weekend, so you can finish a full day of silks, unwind, and experience a little piece of local Ayrshire life with the group.

There are just8 spacesavailable for the sauna experience.

It’s only£14 to add the sauna onto your Silks Lab weekend, so if this sounds like your kind of Saturday night, we recommend booking early.

Is there anything to do in Ayr?

Ayr is a beautiful seaside town on the west coast of Scotland. It had its heyday back in the ’90s, including a pretty killer rave scene!

It’s had its hard knocks since then, but it’s very much on the upward climb. There’s a growing arts and culture scene, especially around pedestrianised Newmarket Street, with independent cafés, creative spaces and plenty of local character.

We wouldn’t exactly call Ayr’s nightlife buzzing (head to Glasgow for that), but there are some REALLY hip coffee spots and killer restaurants to discover.

Take a walk along the river, wander the extensive beachfront, or grab a spot by the sea and watch the sunset.

And what is the studio like?

The studio is a church hall right along the river, just a one-minute walk from the high street and about a 10-minute walk from the train station. There is also a car park onsite.

The space has wood floors and a beautiful new wooden ceiling, which does a fantastic job of holding in the heat. So, for those of you used to training in Scotland, you’ll be very pleased to hear that you will be WARM in the colder months. Yes, actual T-shirt training!

What is Sarah like as an instructor?
Hear it from the students

“Thank you for your presence during the teaching. Thank you for your energy and loving, energetic perseverance, even when the energy in the group became less. Thank you for your appreciation in dealing with the group and the individual people. Thank you for your openness and exploratory being, it was a good reminder for me that things are not black and white, but contain a whole facet of colors and that it always depends on one's own feelings. Thank you for the time, it was very enriching, inspiring and motivating”

Lina Schindler - Vienna

"Sarah and Rain provided spaces and opportunities for self-revealing, creative, and empowering movements. It dawned on me that it wasn’t a lack of dance or theater expertise that prevented me from being a good aerial performer.

Rather, I need to pull away layers (tendencies, unhelpful cultural or personal judgments) to reveal a wonderfully unique performer that already exists inside of me.

This new confidence in myself as an authentic aerialist and performer emerged within the safe and encouraging community under Sarah’s and Rain’s leadership."

-Katherine Lindeburg

“PDM is such a creative force, and the fact that Rain and Sarah are also such generous and talented educators is a gift. They create such a warm and welcoming space to learn, and they're talented teachers, able to break down concepts into bite-size, digestible pieces.”

- Arisa Kim - Los Angeles, CA
