(in response to seeing me in an aerial training session) This friend is a surgeon, so his work has far more measurable and concrete outcomes than mine. I tried to explain the multitudes of benefits that I gain personally from the practice, in addition to the value of art in society as a whole. In doing so, I realized how inexplicably linked they are. ⠀ ⠀ Art and personal growth are often bound together in one monumental, lifelong project. Artists bring our personal experiences into the work, and through the process of making art, we often uncover essential truths about our inner selves and make connections about the world around us.
