Paper Doll Militia Teaching Certification

The Certification Track shifts you from “I’ve learned this” to “I can teach this.”

The Certification Track is a structured process that confirms you can apply what you learned in the Teacher Training in real teaching environments.

You’ll put your training into practice through observation hours, supervised teaching, and in-depth assessments.

It’s a hands-on pathway that validates your skills and shows you’re ready to lead with professionalism and care. This is what earns you an official PDM Certification.

In a field where training pathways vary widely, a PDM Certification stands out as a vetted, reputable credential recognized by studio owners and insurers for its depth of training and high-quality teaching practices.

Certification

75 hours per level/per apparatus

To earn your certification in Level 1 or Level 2, you complete:

50 hours: PDM Teacher Training (including skills assessment*)
10 hours: Class observation
10 hours: Teaching practice (minimum of 4 lead-teaching hours)
2 hours: Two full-class teaching assessments (60 minutes each)
3 hours: Written reflections and evaluation

*In order to receive your certification, you must pass the skills assessment portion of the core training course.

200-Hour Certification

If you complete both Level 1 (75 hours) and Level 2 (75 hours) for the same apparatus, you can continue toward the full 200-Hour Certification.

Final 50 Hours: Personalized Enrichment Module

This is where you refine your niche!

You’ll work 1:1 with a PDM mentor to define your customized focus area and map out the practicum experiences that will support it.

Examples include:

Integrating creative movement, dance, or theatre
Specializing in a unique skill set
Advanced spotting or line-pulling
Professional development and teaching career pathways

No two PEMs look the same. Trainees create unique pathways that draw from their interests and experiences. Recent examples include;
