Paper Doll Militia’s first full-length aerial theatre production is a fantastical performance about love, death, the darkness of the human soul and the light that can be found through community and play. Rara Avis, the rare bird, tells the story of four social misfits suffering from their tragic flaws in their desire to connect. With astounding acrobatic feats and awe-inspiring aerial dance, the darkness of the plot comes off with a touch of comedy, heightened with the hilarity of physical theater and charming narrative rhymes.
