Do you recognize this UK city? Glasgow is an edgy Do you recognize this UK city?

Glasgow is an edgy, vibrant city—and this September, it’s also where you can take your Level 1 Silks Teacher Training in-person with co-artistic director Sarah Bebe Holmes.

Refresh your teaching, get re-inspired, connect with rad humans, and have a blast.
While you’re leveling up your aerial game, you’ll also get to:

🎨 Wander through a mind-blowing street art walking tour

🎷 Sip tea in a dreamy 1920s jazz club turned Turkish café

🛝 Play like a kid again in one of Glasgow’s wildly creative public playgrounds

If you’ve been craving professional development and an excuse to explore an epic city—this is it.

Every coach needs solid no-invert options in their toolkit.

Because more entry options = more ways to meet students exactly where they are. (and treat them as an individual)

Entries from Russian Squat have been a GAME CHANGER.

We remember when Russian Squat to Hip Key first came on the scene. All of the sudden, we could get our students into Hip Key higher off the ground without needing a Windmill (which is 100% an intermediate move)

Now we’re seeing fresh ways to use Russian Squat to get into Same Side Wrap AKA Catchers…

So we compiled our faves—and added a couple new ones of our own.

🌀 Theory Tip:
They start on right-side Russian Squat… but do they all end on the right side? 👀 Check out which ones cross over to the other side, and how.

⚠️ Safety note:
These entries lose height. They’re great for students who aren’t strong enough to invert yet—but only if they can climb and transition with control. If not, stick with working the wrap from the ground until they’re ready.

The secret sauce your core routine is missing👇 The secret sauce your core routine is missing👇

It’s not just strength you need….it’s also spinal articulation + full-body coordination.

This aerial drill breaks down core contraction so that you can isolate and strengthen each segment individually.

1️⃣ Upper ab curl = engage the ribs toward the pelvis
2️⃣ Lower ab curl = trains your pelvis to tuck to full range
3️⃣ Controlled ECCENTRIC return (ie. The “negative”)

The result?
✅ Less leg flinging
✅ More control + lift
✅ A deeper connection to your center

Strong inverts aren’t just about strength.

They’re about timing, control, and awareness.

This drill gives you all three.

📌Save this before your future self comes back yelling ‘WHERE WAS THAT THING?!
Have you seen this? This weird little cross back Have you seen this?

This weird little cross back drip-through came from when I was leading a teacher training years ago. I was demoing a common error, tested how “pancaked” I could get, and suddenly—I slipped through!

This was a fun little surprise. Maybe even a move worth polishing into something cool

🌀 Invitation to play and find it!—with caution (your wrists will cross!).

What’s the strangest “oops” moment that turned into something fun or quirky—for you or your students?

It’s not about what you do—it’s how you do i It’s not about what you do—it’s how you do it

🌀Here’s a creative prompt to help you to get the most out of your transitions

1️⃣ Step 1:
Choose 2 moves that you’re very comfortable with.

 Example from this video:
* Half-lock footlock
* Iron Cross

2️⃣ Step 2:
Perform the sequence using the most direct route—eliminating extra hand grabs, wiggles, shuffles, or corrections. Aim for clean, precise movement.

3️⃣ Step 3:
Now repeat the sequence with an indirect route. Add movement and shape—without changing the core choreography.

Focus on exploring body shapes within the sequence and extraneous movement - movement not necessary to complete the sequence.

Why this works:
➡️The direct route builds body awareness and precision.
💫The indirect route encourages personal style and creative expression.

⭐️Bonus options when working in a group:

🫶Open Source Creativity:
Aerialists are encouraged to borrow and repeat shapes or ideas they see from each other. It sparks inspiration and collaboration.

⏹️ No Repeats:
No one is allowed to repeat anyone else’s choices. Great for pushing creative boundaries and generating fresh ideas.
